Holiday cheer!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! My wishes were granted yesterday when I opened up a package to reveal my coveted watch! I love that the little dials actually tell the day of the week, the date, and the time in military hours. I'll keep updating with some of my other Christmas surprises-- starting with the belt and scarf I wore today.

Madewell shirt and belt, Nordstrom scarf, Fossil Riley watch, Ralph Lauren boots, Gap 1969 Jeans.

One last thing...

Now this is a watch.

Currently I have a different watch from Fossil (this one), which I luh-ve by the way. BUT the top of my wishlist is the rose gold beauty pictured above. I love that the face is covered with crystals but not in a Bedazzled-gone-wrong sort of way. Just in a perfect way. I also like the boyfriend style, and this one is not too big or clunky looking.

I cannot wait until Christmas morning!

Watch out!

Nordstrom shirt, H&M pants, Cooperative wedges, F21 necklace, Vera Bradley watch bands.

Today I got inspiration from the December Free People catalogue that I just received, specifically this picture:

...and a little bit of this as well:

I just love the way that it's so flowy and free! I approached the look in a more structured and subdued way...

except for my accessories! Last night I remembered that I had these colorful Vera Bradley patterned watches, so I searched around and dug them up. They are from a set of four bands with an interchangeable watch face. When I opened the box up though, I noticed that the watch had stopped working. So instead of abandoning the idea altogether, I decided to wear them as is! They give an unexpected pop of color to an otherwise monochromatic ensemble.

Love the little things

I love putting outfits together, and accessories are my favorite part! I thought I would focus on all of the little details this week...sort of like micro view.

Channeled my inner ballerina today, and DIY pink tights headband. What? You say... A headband made of tights? Check out how I did it here. Like so many other little girls, I used to dream of being a ballerina. However, when that dream faded away I was left with memories of dance class and many, many pairs of pink tights. Now I have given them a second life!

Fossil watch, Steve Madden Desert boots, Heritage chambray shirt, and Madewell tee.

I seemed to have stumbled upon Stumbleupon! It's how I spend all my free time now...it's where I find cool stuff like this.

Home is where the heart is.

Love spending time with family during the holidays, and I might as well do it in style! Wearing Ralph Lauren sweater, LUSH dress (Nordstrom), Cooperative wedges. Spent the rest of the holiday weekend sleeping, eating leftovers, and shopping. I'll show you my Black Friday finds a bit later in the week. I hope that all who celebrate Thanksgiving had as nice of one as I did.

Paint It Black

^see it's a turkey!^

This morning I noticed the ground was wet, so I quickly grabbed my rainboots off my shelf, dusting them off as I pulled them on. I have limited chances to wear them, so I started my morning off in a good mood due to my good luck!

I wore all black today, which is completely out of the ordinary for me. I can maybe think of a couple times when I've dressed so dark, and they mostly consist of blackout games. However, today I felt like I represented the weather perfectly or. Or I was just thinking ahead for...

BLACK FRIDAY. aka. the day after turkey day, the beginning of Christmas, the busiest shopping day of the year.

I've got to start planning what sales I'll be hittin' up, but no earlier than 9....maybe 8:30. I'm definitely NOT one of those people willing to pull an all-nighter for that mini doughnut maker on sale for $29.99 that "I just know mom will love". But I am still gettin' pumped for the Urban Outfitters sale. How can you go wrong with 50% off of all sale items?

Another obsession...this week I'm in love with wearing all of my dad's sweaters! I thought to myself..why bother spending $60+ on an "oversized" sweater when I can wear one for free! Can't tell that much from the picture (again, lack of photographer..) but it was the perfect oversized fit. Plus an additional bonus was that it was cashmere..mmmmm warm and cozy.

Dad's sweater, H&M pants, Nordstrom necklace, generic black rain boots.

"Don't mock the scarf, Nathaniel. It's my signature."

Unseasonably warm today... got up to about 71! So instead of wearing warm sweaters and boots, I went for a lighter and more airy look. I was playing around with some more scarves I found, and the bright colors on this one really appealed to me. Plus, I noticed that the purple color in the scarf matches perfectly with my Bensimons!

I had another fashion board meeting yesterday for Nordstrom. A personal stylist that works for Nordstrom came to talk to us about her job. She has led such an accomplished life (..model, teacher, published author, sweater designer for cover of Vogue, mom..) and now she has the best job ever...shopping! She gave me inspiration for my scarf today because she was talking about different ways to make a scarf work for an outfit. For a quick wardrobe change, she suggested to wrap a scarf around your neck, tuck it in the front, put a blazer on top and voila! you have a beautiful new silk "blouse"!

Just ordered my beloved pair of wedges from Urban Outfitters! I got these instead of the other two I was considering.

11.11.11

Did you remember to make a wish? After all it is a pretty exciting day! Bet you didn't know these 11 things about it.

Well I certainly made a wish...a wish for these ah-mazing pairs of shoes I found!

Boutique 9

Cesena Suede Wedge Platform Pumps

or

Kimchi Blue Suede Mary Jane Platform

I prefer the Boutique 9 ones, but in this case price may be a problem... The best pair possible would have a peep toe in the front. I saw someone wearing them, but I could not find them anywhere online. Let me know if you know what I'm talking about!

Geek Chic- a la Bensimon

This summer I brought home lots of things from France, but my best purchase was my two pairs of Bensimon shoes! If you're not familiar with the brand, la tennis Bensimon is a French military inspired shoe company that makes linen, canvas, and rubber shoes out of recycled army materials. It is all the rage in France, and I hardly saw a single person who was not wearing a pair of some sort. They come in different styles and MANY different colors or patterns, but I liked these two the best!

The great thing about buying them in Europe though is that they were only 27 Euros, which is about 40 American dollars. That's not bad considering online they sell for $55+shipping and $70-85 at Madewell.

They're cute comfortable and totally trendsetting--I have only seen one person in the U.S. wearing them (and I know she happens to be European, so that hardly counts...) I would suggest to pick up a pair on your next hop on over to France...whenever that is...and you can be one-of-a-kind!

Unless...does anyone already have a pair/heard of Bensimon?

Geek-chic today because of the buttoned alltheway up shirt. Plus I just bought a new pair of glasses channeling my inner Clark Kent. But they're Juicy so it's okay!

Madewell shirt, Bensimon shoes, and new Gap 1969 always skinny jeans. Super comfortable and the perfect fit. French fishtailed my hair to spice things up a bit!
