So my day today went something like this:

When I woke up it was raining...

...and then it stopped.

So I was all like hmm I'm dressed for the rain though...

...but then I thought...

...oh well...

....just enjoy the sun!!

Mellow Monday

Vintage scarf, earrings, purse, and shoes, Nordstrom tee and sweater, Gap 1969 jeans.

I have to say I'm getting a bit tired of explaining how happy I am for spring, so today I just want to soak in the wonderfulness of my mom's old scarf transformed into a turband. Oh plus her shoes, purse, and earrings...but hey I guess closet shopping is cheaper than real shopping!

The yarn and chain bracelets are a DIY courtesy of Honestly WTF that I made this past summer. Super easy and a perfect weekend craft! I decided to tie a knot on this shirt to give it some structure because it is pretty much a shapeless sack by itself.

Holiday cheer!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! My wishes were granted yesterday when I opened up a package to reveal my coveted watch! I love that the little dials actually tell the day of the week, the date, and the time in military hours. I'll keep updating with some of my other Christmas surprises-- starting with the belt and scarf I wore today.

Unseasonably warm today... got up to about 71! So instead of wearing warm sweaters and boots, I went for a lighter and more airy look. I was playing around with some more scarves I found, and the bright colors on this one really appealed to me. Plus, I noticed that the purple color in the scarf matches perfectly with my Bensimons!

I had another fashion board meeting yesterday for Nordstrom. A personal stylist that works for Nordstrom came to talk to us about her job. She has led such an accomplished life (..model, teacher, published author, sweater designer for cover of Vogue, mom..) and now she has the best job ever...shopping! She gave me inspiration for my scarf today because she was talking about different ways to make a scarf work for an outfit. For a quick wardrobe change, she suggested to wrap a scarf around your neck, tuck it in the front, put a blazer on top and voila! you have a beautiful new silk "blouse"!

Just ordered my beloved pair of wedges from Urban Outfitters! I got these instead of the other two I was considering.

Light My Fire

Fun night out last night at Härth, a new restaurant downtown. My sweet potato gnocchi and the warm fire made for the perfect fall atmosphere. Gap shirt, H&M pants, Nordstrom necklace. I'm going to have to work on getting pictures that actually show what I'm wearing...maybe if I could find someone to take them!


I felt inspired by a tribal scarf I found in my basement, and channeled my inner turban-wearing self. The creation of the scarf headband went down here.
