Red Hot and Ready for the Runway

   

Yesterday was the 2nd Annual Nordstrom B.P. Fashion Board Fashion Show! In case you have no idea what I'm talking about you can remind yourself here. And Yes It Is Capital Letter Worthy. This year the theme was homecoming, but it was combined with fall looks. Each model chose a fall school look and a homecoming dress to strut in down the runway. During the show, each girl modeled their fall outfit--performed an impossible quick-change--then remained calm enough to gracefully float down the runway in a sparkly dress for their second look. All the while the paparazzi snapped pictures and the editor-in-chiefs jotted notes about the stunning high-fashion haute couture styles they observed. Next month they will all appear in VOGUE and teenagers will hightail it to the nearest B.P. to buy everything in sight. 

Okay I got a little carried away there, but the show was a complete success! As a model, I loved being able to style my own outfit because last year we did not have that opportunity. Coincidentaly enough, while everyone was enjoying coffee in the store after the show, I took the time to look around and score some new clothes! I love the way my new blood red jeans and olive green military jacket go together perfectly. It's like red and green with a twist, so I don't look like a Christmas tree! Also according my last post I am totally on trend right now. Go me!

I'll post the paparazzi pics when the editors approve them, and choose which ones they want for the magazine.

On a side note: Fall=Apple Cider=Best thing ever.

Unseasonably warm today... got up to about 71! So instead of wearing warm sweaters and boots, I went for a lighter and more airy look. I was playing around with some more scarves I found, and the bright colors on this one really appealed to me. Plus, I noticed that the purple color in the scarf matches perfectly with my Bensimons!

I had another fashion board meeting yesterday for Nordstrom. A personal stylist that works for Nordstrom came to talk to us about her job. She has led such an accomplished life (..model, teacher, published author, sweater designer for cover of Vogue, mom..) and now she has the best job ever...shopping! She gave me inspiration for my scarf today because she was talking about different ways to make a scarf work for an outfit. For a quick wardrobe change, she suggested to wrap a scarf around your neck, tuck it in the front, put a blazer on top and voila! you have a beautiful new silk "blouse"!

Just ordered my beloved pair of wedges from Urban Outfitters! I got these instead of the other two I was considering.

If only...

So more about the fashion board....had my first official meeting today! It was fun and everyone is really nice, and has really cute style. There must be something in the water there at Nordstrom because like the Fashion Party emcee from yesterday, the manager who ran the meeting was crazy over-the-top enthusiastic.

We took a style quiz to get to know everyone there, and my style is 'trendy and in-the-moment'. That kind of reflects what I wore today...

In case you don't know... I'm a member of the BP. Fashion Board for my region. This means that I go to meetings once a month and learn from people in the business about Nordstrom! So yesterday, we had a fashion "party" (fashion show...) displaying this season's hottest fall trends--Boho & Preppy Chic!

The morning started off with an uber peppy hostess yelling a good morning greeting to the crowd. It followed with trivia questions, prizes, and a walk down the runway from me! and the other FB (fashion board) members. :)
